As opioids continue to devastate communities in our state, I'm encouraged by the proactive approach local organizations and leaders are taking to give Arkansans tools to respond and hopefully save lives.

I’m proud to join @SenTomCotton and @Rep_SteveWomck to introduce legislation to protect consumers from toxin-laced poppy seeds. The bill is named in honor of Arkansan Stephen Hacala Jr. who died from morphine intoxication caused by morphine-laced poppy seeds purchased on Amazon.
NEW STUDY SHOWS NO EVIDENCE MARIJUANA REDUCES ILLICIT OPIOID USE
20-Year Australian Study Found Marijuana May Not Be an Effective Long-Term Method of Reducing Harm for Those with an Opioid Use Disorder
Statement from SAM President Dr. @KevinSabet
.@SenTomCotton@JohnBoozman@rep_stevewomack & @SenBlumenthal recently introduced legislation that will prohibit the sale of poppy seeds that contain a harmful level of opiates and require the @US_FDA to issue regulations to guard against this unnecessary danger. This bill, titled the Stephen Hacala Poppy Seed Safety Act, is named for a young Arkansan who died because of a dangerous gap in federal law. I applaud our Arkansas delegation for leading on this issue to protect Arkansans and all Americans from falling victim to dangerous toxin-laced poppy seeds sold online. #arnews
Vapes are weapons destroying our children’s health. The American government has failed our families. All they had to do was ban the flavors drug predators put in these weapons that deliver chemicals assaults to the brain. If the vapes didn’t contain sugary flavors , kids would spit them out because they taste foul.
Do you think I speak too harsh? Then stop following me.
