@EnjoyingBitcoin@TheBTCViking One correction: bip110 blocks will not be accepted on the larger chain as soon as one block is mined on it that violates bip110.
The next block they produce won’t use the same header from the previous. The chain split will happen quickly. Likely within the first hour or two
@GrassFedBitcoin@MayaPar25 Bitcoin has a chance for two principle reasons: 1) encryption is easier than decryption and 2) soft forking to tighten rules is easier than hard forking to loosen them.
@saylor@STRC_live It’s my node. I’m choosing what software I want to run. That’s property rights.
You don’t even run a node. Just sit tight. This will all be over soon.
@TheGuySwann A significant minority of nodes are running bip110. This gives a structural advantage to miners in compliance and creates a prisoner’s dilemma for those who aren’t. I’ve never felt this confident in its activation.
Percent of hash right now literally means nothing.
@VladTheInflator L take
“The retards voted for this so they get what they get.”
You have to accept that 1) women should not vote and 2) men allowed them to vote.
@fa1rplayy@GrassFedBitcoin@rad_nomad Slower block propagation gives them a slight risk of an orphaned block (two people find a block and the chain goes with the other one)
@cguida6@d0mesticblend@LynAldenContact This doesn’t make sense. We literally can’t stop people from buying bitcoin. That means she’s correct: if buying bitcoin will ruin it, then it never had a chance and we’re screwed.
