El escándalo en la granja porcina que suministraba a El Pozo y que fue destapado por Jordi Évole y el equipo de Salvados, junto a la Fundación Igualdad Animal, va a ser nuevamente juzgado el próximo viernes 10 de julio a las 10 horas en el Juzgado de lo Penal número 1 de Lorca, (Murcia).

La Audiencia Provincial de Murcia declaró nula la sentencia anterior que absolvía a los hermanos Carrasco, aceptando el recurso presentado por Igualdad Animal y ordenando la celebración de un nuevo juicio.

La Fundación Igualdad Animal, como acusación popular, imputa a los responsables de la granja, los hermanos Carrasco, 14 delitos de maltrato animal y reclama para ellos 3 años de prisión y 9 años de prohibición para la tenencia de animales.

El 4 de febrero de 2018, el programa Salvados, presentado por Jordi Évole, emitió el reportaje «Stranger Pigs», una investigación que destapó la realidad de una parte de la industria porcina española y abrió un intenso debate social sobre el bienestar animal, las condiciones laborales y la falta de controles efectivos en las explotaciones ganaderas.

Aquella investigación marcó un antes y un después. Tras años documentando la realidad de la industria ganadera, Igualdad Animal consiguió que millones de personas conocieran una realidad que hasta entonces permanecía prácticamente invisible.

El reportaje situó la realidad que viven los animales explotados para consumo en el centro del debate público y contribuyó a impulsar una mayor conciencia social sobre esta problemática 👇
