RIP Sino 🙏🕊️ I'm shocked and saddened by the news that our DA ward candidate in Dunoon, Sinovuyo Dyokwe, was murdered today during our voter registration activities.

Sino was an energetic activist and helped the DA to its best-ever growth result in a recent by-election where she was our candidate. Residents in the community loved Sino and she could always be found walking the streets of Dunoon helping improve services.

I pray the police find those responsible for her death quickly.

*SWIFT POLICE ACTION LEADS TO RECOVERY OF STOLEN VEHICLE AND ARREST SUSPECT*

*Nelspruit: 20 June 2026* -A coordinated operation by members of the Provincial Anti-Hijacking Task Team (Ehlanzeni), Flying Squad, and Tonga Visible Policing (VISPOL) resulted in the recovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of a suspect on Saturday, 20 June 2026.

Police acted on intelligence regarding a red Toyota Hilux reportedly travelling in Mpumalanga while displaying false registration plates. The information was immediately operationalised, leading members to the Nkomazi Toll Gate, where the vehicle was successfully intercepted.

Preliminary investigations confirmed that the vehicle's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) corresponded with a vehicle reported stolen. Further verification revealed that the registration plates displayed on the vehicle were fraudulent, while the original registration details were traced to Gauteng Province.

The foreign national, was arrested and charged with possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.

The suspect was detained at Kapmuiden SAPS, while the recovered vehicle was seized and placed in police custody for further investigation and processing.

The South African Police Service remains committed to combating vehicle-related crime and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice through intelligence-driven operations and effective inter-unit collaboration.

Female Suspect Nabbed By JMPD TRT with Drugs Worth Over R3 Million in Naturena While Attempting to Flush Drugs Down the Toilet

While conducting an intelligence-driven operation in Naturena, law enforcement officers intercepted suspected drug activity and acted on information received at the scene. The operation led officers to a nearby property believed to be linked to the alleged drug activity, resulting in a swift response by the team.

Following up on the information, officers traced the alleged source of the drugs to a house in the area. Tactical Response Unit (TRU) officers moved in on the property as part of the operation. During the intervention, a female suspect allegedly attempted to flee from the scene as officers closed in.

Police said the woman also allegedly tried to destroy suspected drugs by flushing them down a toilet. Despite the attempt, officers were able to recover a significant quantity of suspected drugs from the property during the search and seizure operation.

Drugs with an estimated street value of more than R3 million were recovered during the operation. Authorities said the successful intervention demonstrated their commitment to pursuing drug-related crime and targeting those involved in criminal activities wherever they operate.

Malawian Boyfriend of South African Xhosa Woman Who Camped With Him at Sherwood Park Allegedly Has a Wife Back in Malawi

A South African Xhosa woman, a mother of three, recently drew attention after she chose to remain at the Sherwood camp in Durban with her Malawian boyfriend despite cold weather conditions.

The woman publicly opposed calls for the removal of illegal foreigners, arguing that it is unfair to chase them away because they are human beings deserving of dignity and respect.

Speaking to the media, she said she experienced genuine love for the first time through her Malawian partner, whom she described as supportive of both her and her three children.

She also criticised South African men, claiming that the fathers of her children do not take responsibility for them. According to her, South African men often fail to support their children and do not know how to love and care for their partners.

However, the situation has since taken a dramatic turn after photographs allegedly showing the Malawian boyfriend with a woman believed to be his wife in Lilongwe, Malawi, surfaced online. The images quickly went viral across social media platforms.

The photographs began circulating shortly after the South African woman publicly defended and praised her boyfriend during media interviews, sparking widespread reactions and debate online.

[STATE OF READINESS AHEAD OF 30 JUNE PLANNED DEMONSTRATIONS]

The Acting Minister of Police, Mr Firoz Cachalia, today met with the management of the South African Police Service (SAPS), led by the Acting National Commissioner, Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, at the Tshwane Academy College in Pretoria.

The purpose of the meeting was to receive a comprehensive briefing on the SAPS' state of operational readiness ahead of the planned demonstrations scheduled for 30 June 2026.

The Acting Minister received detailed presentations on national and provincial operational plans aimed at ensuring that all demonstrations take place in a safe, secure and peaceful manner.

Forming part of the meeting were Deputy National Commissioners, Provincial Commissioners and Divisional Commissioners in the operational and intelligence environments.

Following the briefing, the Acting Minister expressed satisfaction with the measures that have been put in place by the SAPS.

In the coming week, the Acting Minister together with the Deputy Ministers of Police, will meet with the Minister of Defence, Premiers of all nine provinces to reinforce effective coordination and monitoring among all relevant security role players and to ensure adequate support ahead of the planned demonstrations.

In addition, they will also meet with representatives of the private security industry, recognising their important role as force multipliers in enhancing safety and security.

The Ministry of Police will further conduct visits to identified areas that have experienced heightened levels of instability to assess operational readiness and reinforce policing efforts.

The Acting Minister has however expressed confidence that the SAPS is operationally prepared to uphold and enforce the law.

The Acting Minister has urged all Provincial Commissioners to enforce the law without fear or favour and to respond swiftly and decisively to any acts of incitement, violence, intimidation or criminality.

He has assured all South Africans that their safety and security remain a priority and that the SAPS remains fully committed to protecting all people in the Republic and upholding the Constitution by maintaining law and order while safeguarding the rights of everyone.

Daily operational monitoring and assessments will continue throughout the week to ensure stability across the country and to enable law enforcement agencies to respond swiftly to any emerging threats.
