I’m starting to think people dislike Gal Gadot so much that they’ve stopped judging her performances honestly.

I just watched The Runner and… Gal was GOOD.

She starts off a little bland, sure, but as the movie unfolds, she picks up the pace. By the end, I completely bought her as a mother desperately trying to save her son. Honestly, this might be the most emotional I’ve ever seen her on screen.

And the twist? The movie never gives itself away. You genuinely don’t see that shit coming.

It’s also the kind of thriller you can watch with your family, finish, and spend hours arguing about afterward.

Then I read The Guardian’s 2/5 review and it felt like they were reviewing the Gal Gadot stereotype as much as they were reviewing the movie. They compare it to Taron Egerton’s Carry-On, which I think is an unfair comparison, and even downplay the use of real London locations, which I thought was one of the film’s strengths.

The review also suggests Gadot is mainly being used for her athletic ability.

Why are we pretending that’s ALL she brought?

Yes, her physicality is an obvious advantage in a movie literally called The Runner. But her emotional performance was equally important, and I thought she was genuinely convincing.

People need to stop stereotyping actors and actually judge the performance in front of them.

You don’t have to love Gal Gadot. You don’t even have to think she’s a great actress.

But if your hatred of her is making you incapable of acknowledging when she actually delivers, then YOU are no longer being objective.

My final take: The Runner is a good movie.

People just don’t like Gal Gadot enough to admit it.

And no, it’s not because her performance was bad.
