@snarkl@Selftoken@AnthonyK1296@HarrisonCLee It’s a strange phenomenon calling players who played in the World Cup and a top league in Europe a “nobody”. Was he an elite player? Not even close. But does that really make a guy who started in the World Cup and beat one of the favorites to win it all, Colombia, a “nobody”?
@MikeUmbro@bwfast Gerrard, Pirlo, & Giroud were just a few real “soccer stars” of many who’ve failed miserably in MLS. Sure it’s not a top five league yet ( which comes down solely to money spent) but Federico Higuain and Rodrigo De Paul to name just a couple have talked about the quality of MLS.
@eurofounder Chicken nuggets and air conditioning aren’t great excuses for losing to Ecuador and Paraguay. Germany just isn’t close to the team they’ve been in the past. Belittling America might make you feel better but it’s juvenile.
@markschlereth I saw Riqui Puig play the final half of the MLS semifinal on a torn ACL and he got an assist on the winning goal. It’s definitely not all the dudes.
@LordBoatrace soccer has overtaken baseball as the third most popular sport in the country. We’re actually pretty good at it according to youth academy results, the most recent Olympics & now the World Cup.Our better players pretty much walked right through Australia& Paraguay. Don’t be salty
@jaxsoncarlisle_ @ManagerTactical Players who have five goals in the World Cup aren’t mediocre. Cahill and Donovan were both very good and birth had 5 World Cup goals - Donovan would have had more if Klinsmann hadn’t pulled a Klinsmann.
