🟠🪄 As OIP-10 goes live at block #800010,
The ORC-20 standard ushers in a new era of efficiency and security for Bitcoin ordinals tokens,
paving the way for exciting new applications.
We designed ORC-20 to be a cash system.
Here is a dive deep of how UTXO-like model and the upcoming OIP-10 change are going to work.

8/ Remaining Balances
The remaining balances follow two simple rules:
1. No new "remaining balances" are allowed after OIP-10. Users no longer inscribe the "remaining balance" to complete a transaction. All new "remaining balance" inscriptions will be invalid.
2. Existing "remaining balances" stay valid, but can only be transferred to the virtual ATM in exchange for credits after OIP-10. User cannot use the existing "remaining balances" in a transaction.
We designed ORC-20 to be a cash system.

7/ Recycling and Reward
The virtual ATM acts like a recycling and reward engine for unused ORC-20 inscriptions.
When you send an unused inscription to the virtual ATM,
it marks the inscription invalid and recycles the satoshis that were used to create it.
In return, the virtual ATM gives you virtual credits, which you can use to inscribe new balances.
Over time, the virtual ATM accumulates a pool of unused satoshis. These satoshis are used to reward the ORC-20 ecosystem.
🚀
Brace yourself, get ready for OIP-10.
We are moving forward with OIP-10, a new proposal to secure and simplify ORC-20 transactions on Bitcoin.
The proposal introduces a burn 🔥 mechanism instead of inscribing remaining balances, which will make transactions more secure and cost-effective.
With collective efforts @OrcDAO@GeniiData @ordinalsda @Cirus001
🙌
ORC-20 indexers have shared consensus and committed to the long-term development of ORC-20.
We will make public knowledge of when OIP-10 will take place.
Previous "remaining balances" will still be valid until OIP-10, but DO NOT send them to other parties during transactions.
We believe OIP-10 will open a new chapter for ORC-20, making it a more secure and user-friendly token.
