Reform-led Durham council cut off funding to the annual Pride celebrations.
So trade unions launched a fundraiser to save it, eventually raising more money than was cut.
Which means this year's Pride will be bigger than ever.
In the 1980s, the LGBT+ community raised thousands of pounds to help striking miners and their families.
When we stick up for each other, we can achieve anything.
Andy Burnham holds pretend rallies, standing in front of a dozen party staff and councillors holding placards, pretending to talk to a nonexistent crowd in front of him
Neither he nor Starmer could ever inspire crowds like these to turn out to listen to them
Don't forget this Sunday make it the day you retweet to #saveNhsDentists in the UK thousands of people struggle to get NHS dentists, thousands can't afford private dentists,NHS dentists have been privatised via the back door, #saveNhsDentists please retweet. @jamesmurray_ldn
Our support for Disabled is unassailable. Understand the changes Starmers regime intends and the Timms Review can make with no parliamentary oversight.

WHO - The World Health Organisation confirmed famine in Gaza in August 2025. UN confirmed genocide in September 2025. Starmer’s government kept exporting arms to Israel through both.
Andy Burnham is frontrunner to replace Starmer.
His position on arms sales remains unspecified
So Honest Bob Jenrick promises no tax on overtime.
Remember when Farage promised, then abandoned, £90bn tax cuts.
Don't swallow Reform's lies.
They don't mean any of it.
35% of disposable UK household income went to the fifth of individuals with the highest household incomes.
8% to the bottom 20%.
Household income inequality higher than in the 1960s/1970s.
Can't revive economy without equitable distribution of income.

Shame on the Basque police @ertzaintzaEJGV for brutalising Flotilla members returning home after being abducted, unlawfully detained and ill-treated by Israel. May those responsible be held accountable.
We must resist the Israelisation of our societies.
People do part time jobs for a reason, and in doing so they save the Government a lot of money - so why are they always punished? It just doesn't make sense. Excellent article as always by Nicola. Please read/watch/write/sign thank you! 😊🌞
🚨NHS Pension Raid Update
"We're under no obligation to provide the work and likewise they're under no obligation to take the work."
That is what the Chief People Officer of the BSW Hospitals Group said when asked to justify stripping NHS pensions from thousands of vital staff bank workers across Bath, Swindon and Salisbury hospitals.
On Monday the BSW board was summoned by Bath and North East Somerset's Health Scrutiny Panel to answer questions on camera about the outsourcing of NHS staff bank workers across three hospitals to a private equity company. A move that will strip them of their NHS pension, 23.7% employer contribution. A decision that will save the board millions of pounds and their autonomy - at the expense of the retirement security of these vital workers.
Find out how the panel reacted and what steps they took.

The think tanks that shaped disability cuts were outfits like the Centre for Social Justice and Reform, built to justify sanctions, conditionality and harsher assessments, while groups fighting for disabled people such as DRUK, Inclusion London and JRF are left underfunded.
