ORCOPS works on public policy that impacts police officers, sheriffs, and LEOs in Oregon and aims to build trust between with the communities we serve.
Productive meeting with @NAPOpolice yesterday. We will continue to collaborate to advance legislation that supports #PeaceOfficers, including #HR82 to ensure our officers can retire with dignity. #PORACinDC
Retail theft is unfortunately very common in the city of Portland. East Precinct Officers were able to apprehend the suspect of a theft from Mall 205 Target. The suspect was lodged at MCDC on 4 felony charges. @PortlandPolice
Update: Our deputy has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home. She has requested privacy at this time. She has only been with us for 14 months, but previously worked in corrections in another state.
Getting Portland police body cameras is actually something some activists and the police union agree on. So what’s the hold-up? #HeyDan https://t.co/HafYpTg7em
Please welcome the two newest members of Tigard Police!

About a week ago Ofc. David Hawley gave David Thuemler (who is a well known homeless person in downtown Hillsboro) a harmonica. Thuemler immediately started playing the harmonica and surprised everyone. A lot of times in life a simple gift or gesture can make all the difference.
EMOTIONAL FINAL SIGN-OFF: After 37 years of service to the Phoenix Police Department, Sgt. Tommy Thompson is giving his final sign-off. Little did he know, some of his kids and Chief Jeri Williams were on the other end of the radio call, waiting to thank him.
Ofc. Ryan Black of HPD was instrumental in saving a life on 11-9-20 in our community. Ofc. Black was on patrol and in the area which allowed him to quickly arrive at the residence and give life saving measures to save a husband, father and friend to so many. @CityofHillsboro
Sometimes we need a deputy at a call. Sometimes we need a mental health clinician. Oftentimes we need both.
That’s why our Mental Health Response Team (MHRT) pairs a deputy and clinician together in one patrol car to provide tailored and compassionate service to those in crisis.
BREAKING: Oregon Gov. Kate Brown will declare a state of emergency for this weekend's Proud Boys rally. This allows Oregon State Police to run the police response instead of Portland police.
