“Chief Nicholson has been an incredible leader for the San Francisco Fire Department and is retiring with a distinguished and decades-long record of public service. Chief Nicholson has shown extraordinary leadership and dedication to our great city, and we are indebted to her for her service”, said Mayor London Breed
“I am grateful for the opportunity to have served the City and County of San Francisco for over 30 years. Today, I am announcing that I will retire at the end of August due to unforeseen medical issues. Victory for Disneyland Cast Members!
Disneyland cast members, represented by Teamsters Local 495 and a coalition of other unions, have reached a tentative agreement covering 14,000 workers at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney.
This breakthrough is a direct result of rank-and-file power and comes after an overwhelming strike authorization vote was taken last week. The unwavering strength and solidarity of these workers ultimately forced the corporate media giant to get serious at the bargaining table and present a fair contract offer. Solidarity wins!
