The other thing I said about “Daalkhor” was just an explanation, it’s used in the same manner in Afghanistan as “curry muncher” is used in the west.

@Sulkalmakh My interest were rather towards the BMAC individuals since we already have a lot of Sintashta/Fatyanovo/Steppe reconstructions. So all in all the BMAC details are rather just assumptions ? Iirc BMAC‘s were genetically inbetween Mazandaranis and Balochs.

The Armenians of Afghanistan.

The sitting person on this image was Dr. Alfred Dagri, a physician on the court of Abdul Rahman Khan. The standing person on the left was an Armenian from Kabul.

Until the late 20th century there were Armenian communities and quarters in Kabul.

@MiddleEastTakes The second part of the comment Is correct, it was obviously used by Central Asian Jews (See Bukhari Jews) as a language, just like all other Central Asians and they also used the Hebrew script for it. Of course that doesn’t make it a Jewish language, but I am just making a point.

@janeygak @ibnSamani That’s just a random title on alamy. The picture is a photograph of John Burke who was a photographer traveling all over Afghanistan and having more than hundreds of photographs on mutualart, so I don’t know why they should make up the title Badakhshan

@BiruniKhorasan This is the perfect example of historic revisionism. While the first literal inscription of New Persian is indeed a Jewish inscription from Tangi Azao, Afghanistan, it doesn’t make Persian a “Jewish” language. New Persian and Lori are the direct continuations of Middle Persian.
