@vicstarnes ALL your vacation days and spread them out as you can. Don’t be afraid to be selfish with the minimal time you have. You got this mama!! It’s tough but so worth it.
@vicstarnes Congrats! You’ll have a similar timeline to me- son was born 6 months before residency started. Childcare you feel comfortable with is key to your peace of mind and being able to focus on work while you’re at work. Leave work and only focus on your family when you’re off. Take
@kaylamellis_ I feel this. Haven’t slept longer than a 4 hr stretch since I was 32 weeks pregnant. Our little guy is 8 months old and still wakes 1-2 times a night too. Can’t imagine the struggle with two babies. But we’re made for this mama, they’ll grow up & work won’t be so hard one day!
My father is a doctor of jurisprudence and is perfectly fine not being called “doctor” as an attorney. It’s the clinical use of the term that’s intentionally line blurring and not ethical. With a vast difference in training and expertise, the clinical use of the term doctor is synonymous with physician and always has been. Patients deserve to know who they are seeing because it makes all the difference in their cost of care and health outcomes. https://t.co/nYTzCTQpNk
It’s the first day of inpatient 6-6 and let me tell you I am struggling with this 4:45 wake up time. Idk how hospitalists do this, but you guys are another breed.
@Gabby_Brauner27 You are truly an inspiration, girl! Now that intern year has started I struggle to do 30 min on my peloton. 😩 I hope you’re getting good enough sleep too!!
I cannot stress how important it is having a supportive partner in medical training- I just got off my shift and he had a note on the fridge saying to check the freezer, with a McFlurry waiting for me - little things that make a big difference!
Residency is quickly approaching! I’m so thankful to everyone who has already supported my #MGWL . If you feel so inclined, help this mama out 💕

If a female tells you that she’s in medical school or she’s a medical student, it means she’s going to school to become a physician, not an RN, not a PA, not an NP. A physician.
After our “immersion” month, I’m starting on inpatient teaching service come August and I am SO. SCARED. I’ve only had two (T W O) weeks of inpatient medicine experience in school hahahahahahahaahhaahahahhdkrnfkdmdmfnfn. Any tips?! Advice? #MedTwitter
@Gabby_Brauner27 Alaska was INCREDIBLE. Didn’t feel like I was still in the US at all. Highly recommend dog sledding if you get the chance. Only downside was the 18-20 hrs of daylight during the summer 😅 had to put cardboard on the windows to get some sleep lol
@Inside_TheMatch This requires your hobby to have an organization though, no? Like if I like cooking but I’m not in a cooking club, what are you supposed to write for organization? Seems a little disjointed.
ERAS removed the hobbies section??? This is so bizarre. My hobbies were gateways to great conversations & allowed me to connect with staff when I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. But I guess now you’ll have an answer to “tell me something not on your app”…? Is that why?
