• Alas. I myself used to carry a sketchpad and pencils.

#slowtravel. 10 days using #Interrail to visit mainland Europe. Few reflections. No particular order.

• Folks take too much luggage. Wash – Dry – Repeat.
• Time = precious. Where we spend it/ put our attention matters. Hard to switch-off from work? Timebox and phase out.

• I do and I don't envy people who can work from a train.
• Resisting motion that rocks you to slumber, or the lush views that invite you to wonder.
• Not to mention the suspect WiFi. As it is, I find train work is better for head down work, #Pomodoro style.

• #slowtravel reinforces the power of communication. No words? A gesture, a smile, a sign of warmth. Makes visitors/ guests feel welcome.

• UK's greatest achievement was 'persuading' so many countries to speak English... "not much", "just a little"... perfect - let's try.
