Ο @PresidentCYP @Christodulides αποδέχθηκε σήμερα πρόσκληση από τον Πρόεδρο Σίσι της Αιγύπτου για την υπογραφή της σημαντικής συμφωνίας «Host Government Agreement» για το κοίτασμα Κρόνος, η οποία θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 17 Φεβρουαρίου. Η συμφωνία αφορά την εμπορική αξιοποίηση του κοιτάσματος, με την Αίγυπτο να αναλαμβάνει τον ρόλο της χώρας υποδοχής του φυσικού αερίου Την ίδια ημέρα θα υπογραφεί επίσης μνημόνιο συναντίληψης μεταξύ Κύπρου, Αιγύπτου και της διαχειρίστριας εταιρείας για το κοίτασμα Αφροδίτη.

Στη συνάντηση με τον Υπουργό Πετρελαίου της Αιγύπτου κ. Karim Badawi συζητήθηκαν επίσης και άλλα ενεργειακά θέματα, όπως η χρήση της πλωτής μονάδας αεριοποίησης Προμηθέας από την Αίγυπτο. Οι συμφωνίες αυτές αποτελούν σημαντικό βήμα στην ενεργειακή συνεργασία των δύο χωρών. 🇨🇾🇪🇬

"Methane emissions abatement is the first thing we should look into, as it also comes with the lowest costs compared to other emission reductions. A key point in this endeavor is how can we engage technologies and push for research into new technologies that can support projects related to methane emissions abatement."
