Unsolicited advice:
Kubvisirwa lobola on its own doesn’t amount to a marriage in the eyes of the law. Kana wakabvisirwa lobola woregedza kuregister “marriage” yenyu, mutemo unokutii muri in an Unregistered Customary Law Union (UCLU). Section 17(3) of the Marriages Act sets out the implications of failing to register an UCLU. Critical to note is that the implications differentiate an UCLU from a civil partnership.
Kana mabvisirana lobola, you can register your marriage as a civil marriage or as a customary marriage. The nature of a marriage is critical in that a civil marriage is monogamous while a customary marriage is potentially polygamous. What this means is that a spouse married under a civil marriage can’t enter into another marriage during the subsistence of their marriage or else they’ll be liable to a charge of bigamy while a husband married under customary law can have more than two wives at the same time.
Let me also dispel the widely held misconception that once there’s a marriage certificate it means murume haakwanise kuita barika. The type of marriage parties enter into determines whether or not murume anogona kuita barika. You can enter into a registered customary marriage, wopihwa marriage certificate murume obva aroora umwe mukadzi and there’s nothing you can do about it legally because it’s allowed. In other words marriage certificate doesn’t necessarily mean kuti munhu haakwanise kuita barika. The nature of the marriage determines that.
Also note that a customary marriage can be “upgraded” to a civil marriage but a civil marriage can’t be “downgraded” to a customary marriage. So gents think hard before you marry.
Some might want to ask why there’s such a classification which seemingly favors civil marriages and condemns the most common type of “marriage” in Zim ie UCLUs. That’s a topic for another day.
Just in case you’re having a good day….Remember how Harare City Council invested heavily into tow trucks, a brand new parking system and hired hundreds on clamping marshals to make sure if you’re 1 minute late to pay your parking ticket you’ll get clamped and traumatized.
That same city council FAILED to provide any meaningful protection to citizens on a sewer hole they had created leading to the death of 3 innocent souls. Instead of taking responsibility, 4 of the underpaid council workers who worked on that hole are currently facing culpable homicide charges, while our Harare City mayor parades around with a chain around his neck!!!
Let that sink in!!!!

During childbirth, the cervix and the vagina must stretch from their typical non-pregnant width up to about 10cm in diameter to allow a baby to pass through.
It takes about 8 to 18hours in first timers and 5 to 12 hours in ladies who’ve given birth before.
It typically takes about 6 weeks for the uterus to return to its pre-pregnancy size and normal position in the pelvis.

At first, transparent water tanks sound like a brilliant idea.
You’d instantly see how much water is left, monitor usage easily, detect dirt faster, and never have to climb up to check levels again.
So why aren’t most water tanks transparent?
Because the moment you make a tank transparent, you create a new problem:
Sunlight.
Water tanks are usually stored outdoors, exposed to heat and UV radiation for years. If sunlight passes through the walls easily, algae and microorganisms begin to grow inside the tank much faster. The water may start looking green, develop odors, or become unsafe over time.
That’s why many tanks are black, dark blue, or opaque.
Those materials block sunlight and reduce biological growth inside the tank.
There’s also the durability issue. Transparent plastics often weaken faster under constant UV exposure. Over time they become brittle, cloudy, yellowish, or crack more easily compared to heavily pigmented tanks designed for outdoor conditions.
Ironically, making the tank easier to “see through” can make the water quality worse.
That said, some modern tanks partially solve this problem by adding:
small transparent level indicators
external water level gauges
float monitoring systems
smart sensors connected to mobile apps
