Let’s see how City’s appeal pans out but Blackburn Rovers won the league absolutely fair and square and by the rules and were robbed twice against Manchester United by terrible refereeing decisions… don’t be jealous. We weren’t tainted 👍
This is a realistic depiction of medieval Christian liturgy before battle in a movie. From the Serbian film Battle of Kosovo (1989).
In modern movies about medieval wars they either minimize religion or give it a Protestant flavor. Not here.
🚨 WHEN YOUR ALLY LETS EVERY SUSPECT WALK, YOU BRING YOUR BOMBERS HOME.
The U.S. just pulled every B-1 out of RAF Fairford after Britain released all six men arrested over the suspected plot on the base, including a dual UK-Iranian national.
The British government itself says there are strong signs Iran was behind it, and they still handed out bail.
Trump said he never would have let them go, and he's right.
American troops and American aircraft don't stay where the host country won't take a threat seriously.
I think this is fairly convincing evidence that everything the government reported re. the events at RAF Fairford was either partially or mostly untrue.
Logically we can now deduce that the US considers Britain unstable and its government untrustworthy custodians of its military assets, and the images coming in from Gosport tonight would certainly seem to vindicate Washington's analysis.
Britons' government takes every opportunity to treat its own citizens with reckless abandon. There is no good, logical, commonsense reason as to why they persist in behaving like this - in fact they don't even seem to have anything to say on the matter at all.
They follow the 3 D's: Deny. Deflect. Distract.
One of the broader historical indicators that something is badly wrong in your country, is that its inhabitants are obliged to essentially follow foreign news outlets to find out what's going on on their own doorstep.
Every so often I wonder "who runs Britain?" and on each occasion I find myself cornered; unable to respond with anything beyond "I don't know".
I don't know who is running Britain, maybe no one does.
Homer Hickam, yes literally HICKam was the son of coal miners in West Virginia genuinely taught himself rocket science and built proto rockets out of scrap metal and later went onto to work for nasa, our worst is better than your best. Fuck you
"Our old gelding went blind in March and the goose has walked him to water every day since. She gets her body against his shoulder and steers him with it. When there's something in the way she stops and plants herself and he stops too. Then she taps the side of the tank so he knows where it is. Nobody taught her any of that.
At Balaclava in 1854, the 93rd Sutherland Highlanders stood two ranks deep against Russian cavalry.
Sir Colin Campbell refused to form square. His order was simple: hold the line or die where you stand.
They held.
The Russian horsemen broke and turned back. William Howard Russell saw it and described a “thin red streak tipped with a line of steel.”

Let's not forget today that Rick Rescorla was a hero. At age 62, as the director of security at Morgan Stanley and battling cancer, Rick was credited for going up and down the towers' stairs as it burnt and led 2700 people to safety. Rick, when hired was convinced the next attack at the WTC would be by plane. He ran drills with the employees on how to evacuate.
While going up and down the stairs over and over, trying to save more and more, he'd sing Cornish songs that he used to sing in war to calm his men.
Ricks last call to his wife showed just what kind of a man he was:
"Stop crying. I have to get these people out safely. If something were to happen to me, I want you to know I’ve never been happier. You made my life.”
Don't forget, heroes exist, and Rick was one of them.
Rest in peace to a legend.
