We post news and information about the Little Rock School District

[Skip Rutherford @JLRIII]

In new healthiest state rankings, Boston University School of Public Health places Arkansas 49 out of 50, #ReadyforBusiness #NotReadyforPublicHealth

“She should suffer the consequences.”

That’s what one of my colleagues had to say when asked why he’s attacking a mom who just wanted to protect kids all across Arkansas from a pandemic that’s claimed the lives of more than 6,500 Arkansans. https://t.co/A0MdohsyEX

Arkansas now recommends that students wear masks at school https://t.co/JOMH2Ta7Fv | #arnews

PS SCHOOL DISTRICTS:

If you don’t want to implement a mask mandate, just say so. But don’t mislead parents into thinking a potential appeal by the AG - either soon or later - is a reason not to make your schools safer for K-12 children. It’s not.

[Tom Mars @TomMarsLaw]

ATT’N AR SCHOOL DISTRICTS: It would be wrong to assume, as some districts have, that the ruling by Judge Fox in the mask mandate case will soon be decided by the AR Supreme Court. An appeal may not be filed until further hearings occur and, for that matter, may never be filed.

[Teresa Gordon @tesslr]

@MichaelPoore1 The goal of education is to present students with information from multiple perspectives and encourage them to think critically about it and form their own beliefs. Our curriculum should reflect that goal.

[Michael Poore @MichaelPoore1]

I actually trust educators, School Boards, and my fellow Supt’s to get curriculum matters right. I’m so encouraged that so many of the resources available to teachers provides greater historical context that allow multiple resources to be used so students become critical thinkers

[Veronica M @McclaneVeronica]

Asa: Seems like there’s nothing we can do to stop the spread.

Us: You aren’t doing anything.

Asa: Exactly, there’s nothing we can do. We are now going to create surge hospitals we can’t staff.

Us: Maybe shut some stuff down? The economy is tanking anyway.

Asa:

[Jim Ross @rossjam]

Friends, here is a chance to do some work to help kids in our city and say no to those who led the state takeover. We have a runoff election on December 1, and we need to do some safe canvasing.

All you have to do is come with a mask comfortable shoes.
