The struggle for multi-party democracy in Zimbabwe was a tricky and risky affair. I was privileged to have been in the senior leadership of the Zimbabwe Unity Movement at the age of 22. The attempts to establish a one party state in Zimbabwe were thwarted.
6. While we accept criticism we are fortified in our belief that the answer to Zimbabwe's social, political, and economic morass lies in genuine, inclusive and unconditional dialogue. We stand for a peaceful, more egalitarian and prosperous Zimbabwe.
5. We respect the right of people like Jonathan Moyo and others to criticise us. However as these are people who have always fought against the MDCT throughout its history, their opinions do not shape our thought. We are definitely independent of them.
4. We have made our mistakes in the past. We have had our rough patches. Like any other organization, we have had our highs and our laws. But look at failure as an avoidable path to success. Definitely we are getting our act together and there are results.
3. We stand for mutual respect and peaceful coexistence among different political groupings in this country. Indeed we cherish pluralism and the presence of different interest groups in our nation. We respect even those who hold different views from ours.
2. We are a social democratic party grounded on the values of freedom, Justice, equality, solidarity, democracy, constitutionalism and respect for the rule of law. It wants to rid Zimbabwe of politics of hate and intolerance.
1. Our party has been a victim of vile propaganda wedged against it before and after Tsvangirai's death. It was at the recieving end of obnoxious laws like POSA and AIPPA. For the past two years it was victim of a vicious onslaught of deliberate falsehoods.
Exactly a year ago President @DMwonzora made a clarion call for the government of Zimbabwe to restore the dignity of Zimbabwean workers by paying civil servants salaries that matched their 2013 level in real terms.
Had a great meeting with the South African Charge d'Affaires in Zimbabwe Ms Yogaspree Moodley and her team recently. We were happy to note that South Africa fully supports Zimbabwe's full integration into the international community. What a great neighbour.
4-H Zimbabwe is currently hosting an interparty dialogue aimed at enhancing political tolerance in the build up to the 2023 elections. Present is @CCCHarare ,@zanupf_patriots, @OurMDCT@FEEZ, @NCA, @moysarzim
