A few months ago, the New York Times wrote a story about a pregnant Honduran woman who was deported from the country and then traveled 1,700 miles to commit felony re-entry so her child could be born in America.
The Supreme Court just ruled that her baby is as much of a citizen as you and I.
@BowTiedKong Incredibly frustrating. Any time my normie acquaintances start bitching, I tell them "what djt is trying to do is the moderate option. What might happen next is much worse."
They're completely clueless on what that means.
@investigrator@SCHIZO_FREQ@muldowney_matt@emilykmay That tracks. I've heard at least one or two dudes say they've been smacked for saying "no".
This isn't talked about much, or if it is, it's met with "that didn't happen."
@SCHIZO_FREQ@muldowney_matt@emilykmay I had a girlfriend once who absolutely lost her shit the one or two times I said "Not tonight, I'm dead ass tired." Kinda blew my mind at the time.
@AngelQPatriot@BullMooseMemes Do a simple Google search to see who makes the majority of consumer goods purchases. Hint: it's not men. We're not buying VS or fashion mags.
In any case, you do make a compelling argument that, broadly speaking, women lack agency.
@amna_k786@BullMooseMemes@Joyhenderson78 If you count when an unattractive man gives a woman the ick because he said "hello" as "harassment," then sure, that number holds up.
@CdnPrairie07@Mrgunsngear If you shoot something until it catches fire or changes shape, it's usually no longer a threat.
If you spray a bear and it doesn't work, you get your face ripped off.
This is not terribly complicated.
Red-State conservatives are the only people who still sincerely believe in liberalism, just like Blue-State Hick-Libs are the only people who still sincerely believe in progressivism.
Ed's Field Notes: FATHER'S
Most in my family assumed I'd blink out of existence.
Instead, I found a light. Becoming a dad was the ultimate reset. Whatever ideas I had about ending myself through work or my own devices disappeared. That blinding, humbling light gave me a purpose I'd never felt before.
To the single dads: Hold fast. I know it's lonely. I know it's unfair. But not showing up isn't an option. We are the ones responsible for breaking the generational curses chained to our legs. It took me years to realize my mother raised me to be the father she never had. I finally understood why she smiled so brilliantly when I told her I was having a daughter- her granddaughter was going to get what she always wanted. I was a wish granted. If you've got a curse from generations past, you might not get rid of it, but you can drown it with you. Keep it from passing on.
Dad is a title that is earned. The best we can hope for is to turn into a beautiful memory and a cluttered grave. It's the only job I want to be remembered for.
Keep showing up.
