Hi UK, here they come!
Huge start of bird migration from the Waddensea westwards. Currently an bird migration traffic rate of 9000 birds per km per hour. Enjoy π
@Pennyshotbirdin Do you mind if I borrow your Eastern Crowned Warbler photo, please for an article on birding in Shetland in my local bird club newsletter? Full credit will be given, obviously.
Myself, Andy Millar and Martin Davis found this PG Tips at Garth, Mainland Shetland late morning. Pics courtesy of @AndyMVMillar . OBP found by us at Kergord yesterday. Still got 5 days to go! What's next?
The rares still flowing on Shetland with Paddyfield Warbler and Lanceolated Warbler hanging on today after me not being able to get on Unst y'day. A nice padder with a 3rd winter Glaucous Gull. Lancy photo in your honour @01000011S#Shetland24
Apart from the tricky mega in the form of the Eastern Crowned Warbler, Shetland so far has been notable for amazing views of rare/scarce species - Pechora Pipit, RCS, Little Bunting, Barred Warbler
