Last week, The Coca-Cola Foundation joined the PADF team in Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, and St. Vincent & the Grenadines in support of the Caribbean Plastics Recycling Project, funded by The Coca-Cola Foundation.
In Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹, we visited Every Bottle Back, which uses an incentive-based model and engages entrepreneurs from vulnerable communities to collect and export plastic bottles.
In Barbados 🇧🇧, we met with B´s Recycling, the country's largest recycling facility, which is expanding collection systems for plastics and other materials while supporting national waste diversion goals.
In St. Vincent & the Grenadines 🇻🇨, we met with All Islands Recycling, the country's main recycling operator, working with a broad network of collectors, schools, and community groups to recover and process plastics across the islands.
Across all three countries, our team was inspired by the dedication of recyclers, entrepreneurs, community organizations, bottlers, and government agencies working to strengthen the region's recycling systems. Through these partnerships, we are helping improve plastic recovery, increase operational efficiency, and support local solutions that keep plastic out of the environment.
Together, we are building the partnerships and systems needed for a cleaner, more circular Caribbean. ♻️🌎

Over the past two weeks, we have seen the importance of mangroves in Acul Bay and the threats they pose. Today is a day for solutions.
A healthy nature is our best shield against climate change. Mangroves break up the force of waves, prevent flooding, and enable fishermen to find more food and income.
By protecting and restoring these ecosystems, communities become stronger and safer. This is what we call "Ecosystem-Based Adaptation," and this is what PADF and FoProBiM are doing in the Bay of Acul with support from the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund. 🌊🌱
