.@Katie_Lam_MP said on BBC Radio 4 that welfare payments now exceed income tax receipts for the “first time ever”.
That’s not true. Welfare has been higher than income tax for more than a decade.

At #PMQs Kemi Badenoch claimed unemployment “has risen every single month” under Labour.
We’ve seen the Conservatives make this claim repeatedly—it still isn’t correct. Unemployment has risen overall under Labour, but not every month. (1/2)
Reform UK wants to abolish income tax on overtime.
It sounds like a tax cut for hard work. Actually a tax cut for the word “overtime”.
So little GDP impact & huge cost - we reckon £14bn not Reform's £5bn
If you want to spent £5bn on tax cuts, we have ten better ways:

More than twice as many Brits emigrated in a calendar year when Braverman was in the cabinet.
Whole new realities are being crafted by these guys - where 170k net migration is actually more than a million.
The guy who was in the government when Britain had net migration of 1 million is now criticising a govt overseeing net migration of 170k, and is now saying the issue is people leaving, not coming.
This is a shocking indictment of the abject failure of UK news shows to get the actual facts about net migration across to the public and call out the bull**** by the likes of Nigel Farage.
If UK news shows can’t get the job done let’s damn well do it ourselves!
'What is stopping you from signing with me?'
'Is it the financial hardship?'
'Aren't you suffering enough now?'
The pressure tactics that @DrJosefWD is said to use uses on patients with psychiatric med withdrawal are heartbreaking to read about online.

Psychiatrist here.
Any sensible clinician, let alone a qualified psychiatrist or psychologist, can clearly differentiate between a child with true ADHD and someone whose concentration is impaired due to stress, anxiety, sleep deprivation, trauma, excessive screen time, depression, or countless other factors. That is exactly why proper psychiatric evaluation exists.
Reducing ADHD to a lazy oversimplification is deeply disrespectful to children who genuinely suffer from debilitating symptoms, to exhausted parents trying to help them, to teachers struggling to support them, and to the physicians and psychologists who dedicate their lives to treating them.
Unfortunately, when someone does not actually evaluate patients clinically, their “evidence” often becomes purely anecdotal. And too often, these sensational anti psychiatry takes seem more focused on attention and controversy than on science, evidence, or the wellbeing of patients.
Jimmy Lai is a political prisoner facing life in prison under Hong Kong’s draconian national security law.
He sits in a shoebox cell with failing health and is even denied the Eucharist that sustains his faith.
Jimmy Lai needs to be freed before it’s too late.
This is astonishing nonsense. Nobody has identified any errors in our report. Tice’s lawyer didn’t even comment.
And Tice’s statement translates into English as “you’re right, but I want to talk about something else”.
If you work in a high turnover place, are not a psychopath, have a pulse and somewhat competent, you will start to get more work given to you. Little by little, others leave and suddenly you become essential and any time off becomes impossible. You begin to think the place can't run without you, and you feel guilty if you work less. That's the trap Dr Robbie fell into, and what has wrecked his life. Don't let it happen to you.
You cannot, as an individual, fix broken complex systems on your own.
Working yourself to death trying to empty a full ER waiting room does not work in the long term. Real change involves building coalitions of management, providers and politicians, and takes time. Do your best within your means, put in your time when you can, then clock out and go home and hug your kids.
Your time on this earth is short and precious. You'd be shocked how quickly the world (and dare I say, even your loved ones) will move on without you. It's your responsibility to ensure that your life maintains balance.
🚨Sunday Times investigation today:
Richard Tice’s companies appear to have failed to pay £100,000+ in corporation tax on profits, while funnelling over £1 million in donations to Reform UK.
Tice calls it a “technicality” but critics say it looks like aggressive tax avoidance benefiting both him personally and his party.
The party that campaigns hardest against the establishment and tax avoidance now finds itself accused of exactly that.
Mr Tice has had the story for two days. Lots of noise here, but no denial.
And no, most businesses don’t just wrongly claim tax exemptions on REIT dividends. This is not a normal thing to do.
🇩🇰 Denmark just completed its first full calendar month (March 2026) running entirely on renewable electricity.
31 consecutive days where domestic wind and solar generation covered 100 percent of national electricity demand with zero fossil fuel input at any hour of any day.
Offshore wind provided 78 percent of generation, onshore wind contributed 14 percent, and solar covered 8 percent.
The questions Richard Tice isn't answering about the £120k of tax that wasn't paid by his Quidnet REIT property company:
Let's start with a "spot the difference" competition. Here's a dividend announcement from Quidnet. And here's one from another REIT, Glenstone.
