Crazy last 3 days in equities. 7350's are a key area now to watch for Monday open. We've officially broken the first daily swing low structure since the end of March at 7506, but 7350's hold a much more important structure as the bottom edge of a big HVN from the last 5 weeks.

If we hold this area then looking at 7455 & 7473 for the retracement targets.

A good tip is every once in a while delete all the SCID files. Especially if you have data from markets that you maybe opened once and never used again. These files will not affect anything on your chartbooks or settings. It simply means next time you open Sierra Chart it will need to re-download the data for the charts you have open.

I just did a whole purge of my SCIDs and freed up about 10GB of hard disk space. Since my charts now only need 100 days max to load, when I opened SC again it only needed to download the data for the previous March ES and NQ contracts, plus the current June contracts. So now I only have 4 SCID files in the data folder and my platform load speed is greatly increased.

🧵One of the most important settings to increase your speed and platform performance on @SierraChart is the Data Limiting setting. This will determine how many days of calculations all the charts and indicators need to do (some indicators like Vol Profiles also have their own days to calculate settings).

Historical data (anything above the daily timeframe) takes very little data, but anything under the daily is considered intraday data and that is a lot bigger.

Go into your c:/sierrachart/data folder and sort the file by extension. Anything under SCID is chart data and depending how many days you have loaded some of these files can be huge.

So go through all your chart settings and only load the bare minimum that you need for your charts and it'll greatly improve the loading and performance speed.

Now that ES and NQ are at ATHs I really don;t need a lot of days back to calculate. So in general these are the data limiting numbers I am using for anything under the daily:

- Lower time frames (1min, 5min, tick charts): 10
- Footprint charts: 3
- Market Profiles: 10
- DOM/Heatmap: 3
- 1H chart: 100

If markets would start to tank and we start coming down a lot, then I will need to extend the days of data a little more on the 1h charts for my long term Volume Profiles, but for now these settings are all I need.
