State Pollution Control Board, Assam is an autonomous statutory organization constituted on 2nd June, 1975 under the provision of section 4 of the Water Act.
On the occasion of WED 2026, Hon’ble Chairman, APCB, interacted with the students of Notre Dame Academy, Salakati, during a special programme, encouraging them to become responsible citizens and active contributors towards environmental protection and sustainable development.
World Environment Day 2026 observed at Guwahati Refinery in the gracious presence of Dr. Arup K. Misra, Hon’ble Chairman, Pollution Control Board, Assam and Ms. Mousumi Bardalai, Member Secretary, Pollution Control Board, Assam, along with other esteemed dignitaries.

RLO Tezpur, Assam Pollution Control Board (APCB), carried out a series of plantation drives across Tezpur as part of its continued commitment towards environmental conservation and a greener future.

A total of 175 saplings were planted at Haleswar Higher Secondary School, Assamese Club Tezpur, Government College of Teacher Education Tezpur, and Dimension Academy between 29th May and 5th June 2026.

The Hon’ble Chairman, Dr. Arup Kumar Misra, addressed the inaugural ceremony of ChemTECH World Expo 2026 today, where he spoke on the Chemicals and Petrochemicals sector in the context of Energy Transition, emphasizing sustainability and responsible environmental governance.

During his visit, the Hon’ble Chairman interacted with officials from various units at the Assam Pollution Control Board (APCB) pavilion and took note of ongoing initiatives as well as technological interventions being showcased at the event.
