What an exciting two days at the Southwest Regional Police Dog Trials, brilliantly hosted by @ASPoliceDogs & @ASPolice.

This is PD Goose from @PoliceDogDorset and @dorsetpolice - whose score meant she & her handler PC Kimmins @PDFranky now qualify for the National Police Dog Trials in May, hosted by @WestYorksPolice.

A special mention to PD Goose and Kimmo competing in their first Regional PD trial scoring a very impressive 782 finishing 4th. There’s no doubt they will be invited to the National Police dog trials with a score like that. They were a breath of fresh air to watch.👏

What does it take to be a Police dog? A Police dog needs to have a good temperament which includes courage, boldness, confidence, stability, resilience & strong working drives. This together with experience & training makes the Police dog. 5 month old PD Goose had all of this.

!!𝗠𝗔𝗝𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧!!

We are delighted to share with you the news we have formally adopted @RoyalAirForce Retired Police MWDs into the NFRSA family.

We were asked to consider the option some months ago, and with it being a huge step for us as a charity, we have approached it with care and consideration for both the RAF Police MWD sections (or bases), and the NFRSA.

When we first launched in 2022 we supported three services, but we knew as we grew, we would be able to widen that assistance.

The RAF Police MWD will be our eighth service - and we are incredibly proud to be welcoming these extraordinary Military Working Dogs, who have done so much to serve their country, to the family.

In respect for other charities who have historically helped retirees from the RAF Police and have them registered with their organisations, we will be looking after newly retired RAF police MWDs going forward, and with this official partnership and the blessing of the handlers and @RAF__Police we are hugely excited about the future, and look forward to working alongside the RAF family.

Thank you for your support as ever - because without you, we’d have never got this far.

@rafthemaster Goose was the epitome of cool and calm. Shows how much she trusts me. Obi has his paws 🐾 up, yes. He is next to his sidekick Goose throughout the course. Obi nags me to put out searches for him so he is not forgotten 🤗

PD Goose is currently on her Firearms Support Dog course. She is really enjoying all the training, and is doing great, as are all the dogs on the course (PD's Saka, Bill and Gem). She was super chilled and calm during the abseil also.

PD Tank assisted officers and NPAS last week, searching for an offender who had made off after assaulting an officer.
Working together, the subject was located and detained by Tank as they attempted to make good a further escape 🐾

When I arrive at the beach In Exmouth Ella becomes possessed & she is incapable of rational thought. People look at me & probably think that bloke needs to take that dog to see a dog trainer. In any other situation my control over her is 100%. Dog whisperer, absolutely not. ❤️😘
