Today, we met with representatives of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), who led a protest to the Oyo State Secretariat Agodi, Ibadan.
After listening to their concerns, I assured them that government at the national, State and local levels are working together to ensure the safe return of our children and teachers who were abducted in Oriire LGA. I said that we will continue to prioritise the safety and well-being of residents of our dear State, and that we are open to feedback regarding the security of Oyo State.

Therefore, today, I, Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, announce my candidacy for the position of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the PDP/APM Alliance.
The forum gave us an opportunity to discuss salient national issues on the state of the nation, security concerns and the erosion of democratic principles by the ruling APC. We also deliberated on the upcoming national convention of our great party.
We implore members and supporters of our great party to remain steadfast as we reposition the PDP as the best option for our dear nation.

This afternoon, the Federation of Oyo State Students Union (FOSSU) held a solidarity walk to the Secretariat to thank Governor Seyi Makinde for the prompt payment of bursary awards.
This evening, we were at the opening of Bankyloolas Mobile and Pasta Pan in Oluyole, Ibadan. In my remarks, I encouraged the entrepreneurial spirit behind the brand as one of the three things (along with education and intensive production) that we need in Nigeria right now to drive economic growth. I also said they should think globally not just locally or nationally using the example of Nandos which originated in South Africa.
