The Hippocratic Oath shouldn't be something only Doctors and First Responders live by. It should be something that all humans embrace to their core being. You should never deny someone help just because they might believe a different faith or have a separate ideology. It makes one wonder if natural disasters will ever end if this isn't realized. I mean sure, that seems like an outlandish thought especially for non-spiritualists. Natural disasters happen at random, right? Even if they do, what happens? The best of humanity. Every time. Sure they are tragic and there's loss and death, but there is also LIFE. Struggling to survive in the most brutal of circumstances. We see a coming together of people in a way that no other event or occurrence brings us together. In these moments we become more than what we are to help each other regardless of where we come from in life and regardless of who and what we individually believe and choose to be...
But then... we go back to our 9-5 cycle. We go back to our routines. The heroic pictures of humans helping each other start to disappear from our screens and we start to redraw our imaginary political and religious lines and before you know it, we're back to hating each other once again. But then disaster strikes and... see above.
Unless someone is trying to cause you harm, there is zero reason to be aggressive or abrasive. Zero reason to judge other people's lifestyles, zero reason to perpetuate the worst of what our species has to offer. It's okay to have opinions and ideas and disagreements and even petty insults really are not personal attacks especially when hurdled from behind the safety of your screen. If you feel tired, take a break. You aren't required to participate all the time if even at all.
The downside of course is... we all have to WANT to embrace the Hippocratic Oath as part of our daily lives. We have to WANT to be better people each day and we have to want it because it's the right thing to do not because of some silly promise of rewards. Your reward is you made someone else's day better. Some days it CAN be enough. But again, you have to want this.
@Khryn_Tzu Then you definitely want to immerse yourself in Band of Brothers and Masters of the Air for viewing experiences and I always felt the first Medal of Honor and early Call of Duty campaigns had more realism grounded in their depictions of what it was like.
@commons96055467 If Israel is consolidated into a US territory, their government abolished and all of them are US citizens with no dual bs, then sure. We can "combine militaries"
