"U-turn" is generous. This is a panicked three-point turn. How embarrassing for Westminster's Conservative administration, who made so many unrealistic promises to residents they were never going to keep.
Unprecedented hypocrisy from Westminster Conservatives who having berated the Labour administration for raising cabinet member allowances in 4 years worth of leaflets are now accepting for themselves the raised cabinet member allowances. Apparently that was then and this is now.
The Oxford Street MDC's takeover of planning powers from @CityWestminster has been delayed again. Originally 1 April, then 1 June and now "later this summer."
How can business plan to invest if it doesn't know which local authority will determine an application?
🌿 We were delighted to attend the opening of the new community garden at Lilestone Hub - a great example of what Labour in power delivers for residents. 🌼 An oasis in the city with space to grow, relax and connect, designed with residents. 🤝 #Westminster
I trust the new administration keeps on investing in public toilets. The two latest upgrades from @CityWestminster - Green Park and Piccadilly Circus - are so good they get a feature in @ArchitectsJrnal. https://t.co/RgAWgBIODb
For years Westminster Conservatives treated cycle safety as a cynical culture war prop. Now they’re in office, they need to treat it as what it actually is: a critical issue of public safety.
Four questions for the new administration 👇
What @paulswaddle forgot to mention in his first speech:
🧒 Child poverty
🛍️ Jobs, high streets, and opportunities
🏘️ Social housing
🤝 Community hubs
🌍 Climate change
The absences speak volumes….
@ormsby_ellie: "The new administration’s first major speech shows just how out of touch the Conservatives are with the real concerns of people in Westminster."

I’m relieved to hear the new Conservative administration of Westminster council has u-turned and decided not to waste residents’ money on a futile legal challenge. Shame they told residents that this was an option when we all knew it wasn’t.
Just two weeks after winning the election, Westminster Conservatives have u-turned on Oxford Street. There will be no legal action against the Mayor or TFL. 1/2
🚨In their first U-turn, Westminster Conservatives have abandoned their promised court challenge just two weeks after taking office🚨
The Conservatives misled voters with their spurious promise of a legal challenge. This was never a realistic prospect, and they knew it.
Very much hoping we don’t see the same level of negligence under the new Conservative administration in Westminster.
Under Labour, @KeepBritainTidy said our streets were 48% cleaner than the rest of London 🚮
@paulswaddle@PaulEFishr@VoteTimBarnes Which you always knew was the answer you would get. Yet you deliberately misled the voters into believing you could mount a successful legal challenge. Appalling behaviour
Lord Mayor's Farewell Reception💛
It was wonderful to attend the lord mayor's farewell reception at the mayor's parlour with guests from across the city to thank you, the greatest of all time @PDimoldenberg
