Even I thought body cams would shine a light on some substantial percentage of clear officer abuse, but it’s clearly negligible, while dangerous and erratic behavior by suspects is widespread. It is impossible to overstate how wrong BLM and reform activists were on this count.
I used to review officer-involved shooting reports generated by a D.A. explaining the decision to exonerate officers, and recall often thinking “I mean, could that *really* be how it went down?” I suspected there may be some fog of war or selective memory or post-hoc justification to give the officer a rational justification and paint the victim in a negative, irrational light.
But with the post-2020 adoption of body cams, I now believe it all. There is no behavior too insane for a huge number of suspects when confronted with literally any command by an officer requesting some form of compliance.

"It is impossible to overstate how wrong BLM and reform activists were on this count."
I have been a successful propagandist, and I have thoughts about this. Believing your own propaganda too much is risky even when it's true, and extremely dangerous when it's false.
This is a chronic problem with left-wing propaganda. In an ideal world, or at least an ideal world from the point of view of a left-wing organizer, propaganda would usefully deceive and demoralize everyone outside the movement while the movement itself remains in contact with reality.
But it doesn't work that way. Really skillful propaganda has the emotional hooks to deceive everybody, including your own people. This divorces them from reality and sets them up for rude shocks when the divorce is no longer deniable.
I never had this problem, because all of my propaganda was written to make the truth attractive to people who had previous incentives to reject it, rather than peddling a lie. Even so, I knew I had to remain skeptical of my own assertions in order to avoid veering off into cloud-cuckoo-land.
The American left doesn't have this luxury. It desperately needs people to believe that the US is a profoundly racist and unjust society in which cops regularly brutalize Black people for no reason. Which...isn't true. Cheap ubiquitous video has demonstrated this.
If propaganda worked out in the ideal way, leftists would successfully demoralize others by making them believe this, but retain the ability themselves to deal with the actual fact that Blacks stopped by cops become semi-psychotically violent with enough frequency to justify much more violence than the cops routinely exert.
It hasn't worked this way. Because "reform activists" get caught up in their own propaganda, many of them are now reduced to crying that police interactions should *not*? be recorded. Which is absolutely not a position that's going to convince anybody outside their own movement. That position looks like it's designed to give activists room to lie about the problem, and it looks that way because it is that way.
I repeat: never fully believe your own propaganda, even if it's nothing but an emotionally compelling presentation of the truth. For that way can lie madness.
"The benefits of government-sponsored sex become more apparent when we look at the issue of productivity. Few economists have bothered to address the role sexual malaise plays in the declining output of the American worker."
-Arthur S. Levine, "Sex and the Democrats" (1982)
For 104 years, a tiny triangle of Europe belonged to no country at all.
It had a mayor, a flag, briefly a casino, and in 1908 it very nearly became the world's first Esperanto-speaking state.
This was Neutral Moresnet, and it came about because of a hole in the ground.

I'm in my 40s. The most scared/disoriented people in my network are the ones that have the following resume => went to an Ivy League school, went into consulting for Bain or BCG or investment banking for a bulge bracket bank then MBA at Harvard/Stanford and then career progression in high income tech W2 or hedge funds/private equity.
A number of these individuals in the last 5 years have been unexpectedly let go in their early 40s with 2-3 kids in private school and a burn rate they socially struggle to walk away from (kids have close friends now, business connections at the private school their kids go to, living in a high cost location makes it easier to network, etc).
These are the people literally have only been told they are excellent their entire lives and now are in year 3-4 (no exaggeration) of trying to land a new job. Some are willing to "settle" for working for mid 6 figures (some even less) just to cover their burn rate with a young family.
AI probably makes this dynamic happen earlier in one's career going forward for some of these perfect resumes individuals. Good chart from @Jack_Raines in his book Young Money
The AIVD mentioned the Muslim Brotherhood in other years. They consider them as a possible threat in the long run. The MB in the Netherlands is small compared with neighbouring countries like France or the UK. There is no Dutch branch of the MB Council of European Muslims.
In the United States, white people earn significantly more than black people on average.
But as soon as you compare blacks and whites with the same IQ, that gap disappears like magic...
This is one of the clearest pieces of evidence that systemic racism isn't what's driving the raw overall income disparity between the two groups.
Dit dus. De haat tegen Joden die niets met Israël van doen hebben groeit. Het is levensgevaarlijk en het duwt de samenleving een richting op waar we niet heen willen.
