@ploonanny May I ask the exact location. Is it between Deepdene and Betchworth? I'm a Dorking person and the North Downs Line is relatively famiar to me.
The Looe Valley Line is a very picturesque ride and from Looe follows the course of the former Liskeard and Looe Union Canal. In the photo showing the bridge, the right-hand arch crosses the disused canal.
As a child, dad and mum took me there in the late 60s and into the 70s in my teens (aunt had holiday bungalow above Looe) and I loved it too. It fuelled my interest in mechanical music (see profile); Mortier, Hooghuys, three Arburo, Wrede, Karel Struijs, Wurlitzer... 😃👌

@Jeremy_Hunt You’re walking right across the area that was once Cranleigh railway station. Why not pledge to reopen it and the line to Guildford that served it? That would be real, substantial change.
@BMLBod We had childhood holidays in the New Forest near Brockenhurst in the 60s so witnessed the final days of steam on the Southern and a number of Bulleids right to the end, also the last steam to Lymington. We'd spend hours on a public footbridge that crossed the station platforms.
