Last year, on a solidarity trip to Israel, I met with Mayor Davidi of Sderot. Just miles from the Gaza border, his town and region were devastated on October 7th. His senior advisor, Amit Kochavi, asked if I’d connect their local college, Sapir, with Clemson. They wanted to strengthen the US-Israel partnership and help rebuild the Western Negev – one of the most productive agricultural areas in the world.
This past week, Clemson University, Sapir College, and Hebrew University made that partnership a reality. At a time when antisemitism is rampant on college campuses, Clemson is taking a different path. This partnership focuses on the latest technology and research to bring three schools and two countries together to benefit the people of the U.S and Israel.
We love to see green appearing on the trees and the start of springtime blooming everywhere. BUT ... when we're lucky enough to get spring showers, please remember to turn off your irrigation systems to #makeeverydropcount!
