Miksi Suomen julkinen talous kannattaa sopeuttaa menoleikkauksilla? Syy näkyy tästä. Suomessa julkiset menot suhteessa BKT:hen ovat maailman korkeimmat ja noin 8 %-yks. korkeammalla kuin Ruotsissa ja EU:ssa keskimäärin.

1 %-yks./BKT on Suomessa noin 3 mrd. euroa, joten Ruotsin tason saavuttaminen vaatisi reilun 20 mrd. korjausta julkisiin menoihin. Nopeampi talouskasvukin auttaa suhdeluvun laskuun. Sen vauhdittamiseksi vain veroja alas.
