You may have received a notice in the mail regarding New York City’s new @NYCSanitation trash bin requirement.
While 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 was originally set as the enforcement date for homeowners to use the official NYC trash bin, we have been informed that 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, giving residents additional time to purchase the required bin.
We are also hearing that the June 1 deadline for reimbursement applications for those who qualify for a free bin may be extended by one month, with an official announcement expected next week.
📌 The requirement applies to:
✅ Single-family homes
✅ Two-family homes
✅ Residential buildings with up to 9 units
🗑️ Official NYC Bins are currently available through Home Depot, DoorDash, and Instacart.
As always, our office will continue to share updates as additional information becomes available. If you have questions, please contact our office 718-738-1083 or 718-318-6411.
@SusanBEdelman Why is AI being used in schools at all? The DOE has already been successful at making children robots that regurgitate an agenda ridden curriculum. Teach the kids how to use their own brains- the machine’s.
My Chief of Staff, Phyllis Inserillo, met with @NYC_DOT Queens Borough Commissioner Nicole Garcia and @NYCWater Director of Field Operations Jerry Fragias in Rockaway to show them the abhorrent conditions on Rockaway Beach Boulevard.
According to DEP, there is no undermining of the roadway. This is entirely on the DOT now to repair the potholes and get a full, proper repaving done. As my Chief of Staff made clear to the officials during today’s meeting, the current conditions are absolutely unacceptable and my constituents deserve better.
I look forward to DOT commissioner Flynn coming down in the coming weeks to further discuss the matter.
I heard some good news today.
It looks like the @NYCSanitation Commissioner is doing the right thing and delaying fines for residents not having the official NYC trash bin for the next three months, rather than the original June deadline (hearing the new deadline will be after Labor Day.) This will give New Yorkers the whole summer to be able to obtain the often-unavailable bins.
Hopefully, they figure things out by then.

The RCA Building aka "30 Rock"was built in large part by Italian immigrants. Taken on Sept 20, 1932, shows ironworkers 850 feet off the ground in Manhattan.
Months prior, Italians set up the first Rockefeller Christmas tree to show their appreciation for the Depression-era work
Liberation Day is a holiday across Italy that commemorates the liberation of the country by Allied troops and the Italian resistance at the end of the Second World War It honors all those who died during the war, from soldiers fighting overseas to civilian victims.
A judge ruled against this proposal just last year, because the DOT failed to adhere to Local Law 6, and the local firehouses were adamant that this redesign would negatively impact public safety.
I am very curious to know if the firehouses concerns were actually taken into account this time around, or if the administration is putting their thumb on the scales and forcing through an unsafe project.
Members of the FDNY give selflessly of themselves each & every day. That's why I am so committed to improving the department and making things better for its members.

Earlier this evening I joined @LidiaNews and @CMFrankMorano on @NEWSMAX's The Count to discuss an array of issues, from the mayor's failed promises to former Mayor Eric Adams' new Albanian citizenship and more.
Thanks for having me on, Lidia Curanaj and Newsmax! And great to be on with my friend and council colleague Frank Morano!

Wishing a blessed Palm Sunday to Christians across NYC.
In italy, while palm branches are used, olive branches are more common in many parts of the country, as they are more readily available and symbolize peace.
Wishing all a peaceful start to the most Holy Week. 🙏✝️
New: The placement of Muslim prayer rugs in front of the FDNY’s memorial plaque for firefighters killed on 9/11 has angered members who contend the Ramadan observance disrespected the fallen heroes. The FDNY denies any "intended disrespect."

If @FDNY Chief Savings Officer Lizette Christoff has initiatives that she is able to pull funding from, I hope she's telling @NYCMayor that it’s going towards fixing issues like this in our firehouses ⬇️

I would like @dsny and @NYCMayor to tell me why my neighbors are getting harassed if their compost pail isn’t out but people who run open streets (which really means close the street to cars and pretend that we’re doing something) can just leave the garbage everywhere.
