🇦🇱🇱🇺 Ravi d’avoir été accueilli pour un échange très chaleureux et constructif par le Vice-Premier ministre et ministre des Affaires étrangères du Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel @Xavier_Bettel.

Nous avons réaffirmé l’excellent état des relations d’amitié et de coopération entre l’Albanie et le #Luxembourg, ainsi que notre engagement commun à approfondir davantage la coopération dans les domaines clés existants, tout en exprimant notre volonté d’explorer davantage des secteurs tels que l’innovation, la technologie et le tourisme.

J’ai exprimé la profonde reconnaissance de l’Albanie pour le soutien constant et résolu du Luxembourg à notre processus d’adhésion à l’UE, ainsi que pour son engagement en faveur de la perspective européenne des Balkans occidentaux. Nous avons également discuté des prochaines étapes des négociations d’adhésion, en soulignant l’importance de maintenir la dynamique de l’élargissement à travers un processus crédible, fondé sur le mérite et orienté vers notre avenir européen commun.

Je me réjouis de poursuivre et d’approfondir ce partenariat étroit, nourri par nos valeurs européennes communes, notamment à l’occasion d’une prochaine visite du Ministre Bettel en #Albanie.

🕊️ Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Eliot Engel, a distinguished public servant who represented New York in the U.S. House of Representatives for over three decades (1989–2021).

A respected figure in American politics, he was also a steadfast and principled supporter of the Albanian cause, and in particular of #Kosova. He was among the strongest voices in Washington supporting the decisive U.S.-led military intervention to stop the ethnic cleansing of Albanians by the forces of the Slobodan Milošević regime.

His commitment did not end there; he remained a consistent advocate for Kosova’s independence and international recognition, helping to shape enduring U.S. support.

Congressman Engel championed democracy, human rights, and transatlantic values with conviction and clarity. His legacy will endure in the causes he advanced and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.

May his soul rest in peace.

Since that defining moment, Albania has proven itself a committed and reliable Ally — contributing to NATO missions and operations, promoting stability across the Western Balkans, including by consistently supporting #Kosovo’s #Euro-Atlantic perspective.

Today, #Albania stands fully aligned with NATO’s evolving priorities: from fair burden-sharing and increased defence investment, to strengthening resilience, embracing innovation, and advancing new technologies in a rapidly changing security landscape.

Looking ahead, Albania is honored to prepare for hosting the first NATO Summit ever in our region. This is more than an event; it is a clear expression of trust in Albania’s role, credibility, and contribution within the Alliance.
