Last week we had the news my niece has PKU, a genetic condition that can be life threatening if not treated early. Thankfully it is manageable and with time and education we will all be able to help her. 🥰

Today finding a suitable place for a plaque, to commemorate Sheila who was treated for PKU 70 years ago. Hopefully we will be holding a special event later this year. Thank you to Fiona, our medical director, Prof Anne Green, @official_espku and @hagedorn_tobias

We’d like to pay tribute to this brilliant young woman who sadly died on Thursday.

She spent her final months raising funds so that others might not have to suffer with her rare and incurable condition.
