Acclaimed generative artist Siebren Versteeg creates a durational experience by challenging collectors to become curators of our “time.”
Arsnl Art takes on the generative art space with Siebren Versteeg’s For a Limited Time, a 12-month artistic experiment that relies on collector interventions to memorialize moments in the artwork’s process. Through his ephemeral, news-driven, and algorithmically generated collages, Versteeg challenges collectors to curate "our time" and create a collective narrative of history as it unfolds.
Versteeg’s algorithms generate collages that transform current events into works that are erotic, prophetic, sometimes terrifying, often humorous, and always revelatory. For a year, Versteeg will generate a new work every 10 to 15 minutes, using trending stories scraped from the internet as source material. Each work will only exist "for a limited time" before being replaced by the next. However, if a collector can’t bear to see the work go, they can claim it, cementing both the art and their personal connection with time onto the blockchain.

@JoelKatz@TheAgentSmithV3@APompliano The meta point here being that perhaps our political culture overvalues choosing correct trade-offs and undervalues incentivizing that funny clearly good but somehow so hard to obtain thing called "competence"
