They are so afraid of you realizing there are politicians who can and actually want to make your life better and not just collect checks from lobbyists and corporations.
Genuinely the best thing that can happen to American soccer culture is to lean in to what makes us unique with our college football culture opposed to doing our version of European soccer culture
College gameday style atmospheres is a great start
Perfect example of how STUPID This hydration break nonsense is
Ecuador are in the ascendancy and it’s killed the momentum, for no sensible reason
A game that’s been played since the 1800s, and you just rewrite its structure, because you want more ads 🤮
So bloody stupid, especially when it’s not hot
📺 Meanwhile the Telemundo TV commentator during the hydration break:
"We are one of the only networks in the world to NOT show adverts during the World Cup cooling breaks."
"We prefer the old school way. We should be able to see what the players do. We show fans, people enjoying, not the corporate direction of football." 👏

🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: During Mexico vs South Africa, the referee had to keep the players waiting during the cooling break because FOX was still on a commercial break.
The match eventually resumed while FOX was still showing advertisements.
These cooling breaks are not related to player health, but are instead used to accommodate commercials.

Oh wow, they’re not even doing a split screen of players on the field with ads on the side. Just a straight up commercial break. So GD gross. FIFA aren’t blameless, but it’s just so shamefully American to create a “hydration break” as a means of selling a few more ads #WorldCup
Hydration break TV ads in the World Cup is an abomination. The absolute best thing about soccer is the constant motion where the fittest team usually survives. “Quarter” breaks are asinine.
Congrats @FOXSports, it's literally day 1 and your greed has made me abandon you. I know this mainly stems from @FIFAcom, but the full commercials during the MIDDLE of the game are so unnatural and off-putting that I refuse to support it. At least @Telemundo keeps coverage going
Los fundamentalistas del cooling break argumentaban que estaba bueno porque podías escuchar/ver las indicaciones del técnico. Ahora directamente cortan la transmisión para pasar publicidades. Que horror.
