@StarCityGames color identity is dumb. magic already has a system to prevent decks from using too many colors. it also pushes wizards to add extra unnecessary colors to legends just so players can have access to those colors in commander
@grosdoorne@Hangbei_ILM Yeah. Specifically Phoenician comes from the Sinaitic script which was used in Egypt. Sinaitic is also the ancestor to the Arabic, Hebrew and many South Asian scripts as well.
@fuchsmaul@noqueefsgiven While the origin is disputed, twink did not come from an acronym. A general rule of thumb is: if you hear a word comes from an acronym, that's probably false (with very few exceptions).
@jen_tcg Also mana is popular because it works. Not to say other systems don't. But an escalating mana system naturally creates an early middle and late game, where different cards are stronger or weaker at different stages. And that's something a lot of games want.
@jen_tcg I mean, Pokemon's energy system is pretty similar to Magic's mana system too. The only difference is weather you use the resource to play cards or to do combat.
@DoozerDiffuser@retail_trash no one defines derivatives and integrals with infinitesimals. it's all done with limits. but either way, it's perfectly well defined and doesn't require any division by 0
