"Fake Elector Plot"
What I have learned:
- Anybody can be appointed as unofficial electors.
- Only state gov't can officially certify those electors.
- Nobody wanted to "foist" unofficial electors as official, and
- No "pretext" needed to object to official electors.
@AngryFleas@JaneLeicher@RickG123456@PhilipBLee@mrcoolvibes17 That doesn't explain why they couldn't have voted on Jan 4 instead.
- Democrat electors did not have a certificate from the state.
- The recount wasn't over.
- The court didn't order fake electors.
Why didn't they wait until Jan 4 when they got a certificate from the state?
@ThinkerGate@Patrick57281691@Rach_IC The burden of proof is now on the state to prove that there was no reason for Trump, Eastman, et. al., to dispute the election results.
Perhaps their challenge was ultimately unsuccessful, but that ship sailed long ago.
It seems their dissent was legitimately founded.

@AngryFleas@JaneLeicher@RickG123456@PhilipBLee@mrcoolvibes17 So why was it okay for Democrat electors to make fake electoral votes in 1960?
Nixon was the official winner as of December.
Are you saying they should have waited until after the recount?
@TheCenterStripe@t_f_bow@EducatingTrump2@teamphil@sobey30442@MolaRamLinux You're telling me that the law:
- allows nonconforming votes to be counted,
- punishes dissenters who get it wrong, and
- gives an unfair advantage to late electors?
I don't believe you.
Believe whatever you want, but I won't be convinced without evidence.
Two movies on one screen:
Movie 1: Trumpโs former lawyers have made deals to testify against him. Trump is going to jail for sure.
Movie 2: Biased prosecutors overcharged everyone around Jan6 and now lawyers are making the best deals they can. No one has any dirt on Trump and none have suggested they do.
Iโm watching Movie 2.
@AngryFleas@JaneLeicher@RickG123456@PhilipBLee@mrcoolvibes17 I do not dispute that. Remember, no slates slated alternates in 2020.
What I dispute is that state certifications are "final" when they clearly have the ability to certify even a couple days before Jan. 6.
@AngryFleas@JaneLeicher@RickG123456@PhilipBLee@mrcoolvibes17 โ"As of Dec. 14th, the state certifications were final." - Nope.
The unofficial Democrat electors cast their votes on the same day as the official Republican electors: Dec. 19.
The Democrat electors were not certified by the state until Jan. 4.

If the error margin exceeds the victory margin then the result is indeterminate.
A dead heat.
There was no fake elector plot conspiracy.
It was legitimate dissent about the error margin.
We don't punish dissenters.

@CO_Stever@sheilawking@jo_rauluk@Rach_IC Great, so how does that make Trump guilty? He wanted state legislatures to recertify.
There was reasonable doubt.
- "The Laptop Is Russian Disinformation"
- Victory margin covered overnight by "COVID ballots"
@TheCenterStripe@t_f_bow@EducatingTrump2@teamphil@sobey30442@MolaRamLinux I never claimed that. Quite the opposite actually. Congress can reject official votes if they want.
And apparently they can also accept nonconforming votes.
I'm not sure I quite agree, but I'll accept your premise.
