KADUNA STATE REVOLUTIONISES BASIC EDUCATION WITH INFRASTRUCTURE OVERHAUL, DIGITAL TOOLS, AND TEACHER SUPPORT

Governor Uba Sani, CON, has commissioned the newly reconstructed and upgraded Sultan Bello Primary School in Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna.

At the symbolic event, the Governor—represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe unveiled 1.1 million Teaching and Learning Materials (TLMs), 18 Smart Boards for digital learning, and a monitoring fleet of 55 motorcycles and 3 Golf wagons. These vehicles will enable Quality Assurance officers to conduct real-time classroom monitoring, teacher support, and data collection across every corner of the state.

This event marks a symbolic commissioning alongside widespread basic education interventions spanning all 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

Since May 2023, Governor Uba Sani’s administration has driven extensive physical upgrades across Kaduna's three senatorial zones:
Classrooms: 3,267 classrooms constructed or rehabilitated.

Sanitation & Water: 2,232 Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities and 180 boreholes delivered.

Tech & Science: 29 computer labs and 87 science labs fully equipped.

Furniture & Materials: 81,540 sets of teacher and student furniture distributed, with 10,468 more slated for procurement, alongside over 545,000 teaching and learning materials.

Beyond physical infrastructure, the state is heavily prioritising human capital. Over 33,137 teachers, headteachers, and School Support Officers have undergone training in digital literacy, classroom management, and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN).

Key policy and welfare reforms have also been implemented, including the adoption of the national minimum wage for primary school teachers, clearing promotion backlogs, extending service years, and ongoing plans to recruit 10,000 new teachers.

The Kaduna State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Dr. Uba Sani, CON, is commissioning school infrastructure and educational interventions across the 23 Local Government Areas of the State.

The projects include classrooms, renovated school facilities, toilets, boreholes, furniture and other interventions aimed at improving the learning environment for children across Kaduna State.

This is part of Governor Uba Sani’s continued investment in basic education and his administration’s commitment to providing safer and more conducive schools for learners and teachers.
