Postpartum depression isn’t the only maternal mental health disorder. There are a range of mental health conditions including depression, general anxiety, OCD, psychosis and PTSD. Because of the COVID crisis more mothers are expected to suffer from post traumatic stress.
There are more new cases of mothers suffering from maternal depression each year than women diagnosed with breast cancer. Women in their childbearing years account for the largest group with depression in the U.S.
