Yesterday I met with members of the Rwathia Group, longstanding investors who have played a major role in building Nairobi’s commercial strength. As some of the city’s earliest and most committed business leaders, their stake in Nairobi’s future is both historic and significant.

They expressed serious concerns about the current business climate including over-taxation, multiple levies, harassment by county askaris, slow and unpredictable licensing processes, poor infrastructure, and limited engagement between the county and investors. These challenges are hurting enterprise, jobs, and overall economic growth.

I assured them that once elected Governor, I will work closely with the business community to restore order, fairness, and dignity in how entrepreneurs are treated. Nairobi must become a city where businesses are supported to grow, create jobs, and drive prosperity.

Bwana IG when we called on you on Friday 30th January 2026 with other National leaders before your two deputies and other senior officers you gave us several commitments.

Among them was a clarification that the National Police Service is apolitical and would not meddle in politics. You went ahead to give us an assurance that the service will respect the constitutional provisions that guarantees freedom of movement and assembly.

You gave a categorical undertaking that under your command, the police will never disrupt public meetings or stop leaders from engaging members of the public.

We doubted your assurances but nevertheless gave you the benefit of doubt while knowing very well you have surrendered the command of the National Police Service to politicians, political operatives and goons.

I specifically alerted you that the Police Command in Nakuru County was in the hands of the spouse to the County Governor.

Sure as December 25th is Christmas, you seem to have no authority of police in Nakuru county and you have regrettably surrendered the same to a Bussiness partner of Mr. William Ruto who is responsible for the importation of duty free sugar and rice to the detriment of the Kenyan farmers.

Yesterday the busybody ordered the Nakuru County Commander Mr. Opuru Emmanuel of telephone number 0722588054 to erect a road block at Karati River and stop my entourage from entering Nakuru county from Nyandarua county to address the public at Kinamba Trading Center in Naivasha.

The police in four land cruisers under the command of Naivasha OCPD Mr. Sigei Wilson of telephone [phone] had officers masking their faces and harassed members of the public for over one hour and withdrew after hundreds of agitated members of the public arrived at the scene and demanded the roadblock be removed to allow my entourage access Nakuru county.

The Naivasha police command is notorious for using its officers to disrupt our meetings.

On 29th March 2025, police under Command of Mr. Keter attacked us Mai Mahiu and Naivasha town and junior police officers are loudly complaining that now Mr. Wilson Sigei is misusing them to do dirty political work when crime is on the rise in Naivasha sub county.

Mr IG you need to inform the public why you have surrendered the command of the National police service to a Bussiness associate of Mr. William Ruto.

Kenyans must stop normalising corruption. We lose over KES 1 trillion every year to graft, yet we are permanently broke.

For context, that stolen money could clear over KES 700 billion in pending bills, reduce the fiscal deficit to 4% or less, support small businesses, build roads, deliver water to every home, hire teachers and nurses, fully fund capitation and make education free, and build and equip 47 Level 7 hospitals, one in every county.

As I have always said, Kenya does not have a revenue problem. We have a corruption and prioritisation problem. We deserve leadership that will genuinely fight corruption.

Kenyans must stop letting political parties and their leaders decide the country’s direction on their behalf. Parties are only vehicles, and citizens must reclaim their power by demanding to be consulted and respected. When voters remain passive, decisions shift to closed rooms where public interests are ignored.

Coalition talks should be about jobs, cost of living, land, security, justice, and services, not about positions, egos, or personal survival of party honchos. Kenya’s democracy will only work when the people set the agenda and parties respond to it.

Nothing in politics just happens.

Today, Coast leaders are meeting under Hassan Joho to create a UDA-aligned political vehicle designed to break away from ODM. This is a calculated move aimed at weakening ODM and reducing it into a Nyanza outfit.

In the absence of Baba, William Ruto is moving quickly to fragment ODM so that he controls the regions outside Nyanza, while leaving ODM supporters with the illusion that they still have a national party.

The Coast is the first target through the Joho vehicle. Western Kenya is next, with Musalia Mudavadi being enticed with the promise of the Deputy President position on the 2027 ticket. Mt Kenya is also being tested through artificial regional divisions, with Kithure Kindiki being used for now, despite the reality that Ruto knows he will not need Kindiki beyond 2027.

ODM members must refuse to be silent as the party Baba built over many years into a national movement with clear ideals is dismantled piece by piece. ODM members must stand firm. If ODM falls, it will not be because it was defeated. It will be because it was surrendered.
