“From my point of view, I didn’t say anything that deserved a card. It was just competitive talk in the heat of the moment. We both wanted to win, and sometimes these exchanges happen.

“After the final whistle, the game was over. We respect what Messi has achieved in football, but during those 120 minutes, he’s just another opponent you’re trying to stop.”
