PS9, between St. Marks & Bergen
@PS9BklynPTO
Can't make it? They will be back Thursday June 22!
If you've yet to donate or share, please do when you can. A share costs nothing except a minute of your time, and the effects of it can be exponential. https://t.co/3V7IsHAWm4
Tuesday might be over, but the giving isn't.
Our Facebook fundraiser for #GivingTuesday will remain active through the end of December.
From the bottoms of our hearts, endless thanks to those of you who have shared our links or donated money to the PS9 PTO.
As we all continue to work for our PS9 students & staff, filling the gaps left by citywide school budget cuts, it's good knowing that we're builders & not destroyers. If you haven't yet given & you're able, please consider doing so. Every dollar counts. https://t.co/3V7IsHAWm4
This year's #GivingTuesday is winding down. We're so grateful for the support we receive from PS9 parents & caregivers, from grandparents, aunts, uncles & cousins, from friends near & far.
Support can look like a lot of different things. Sometimes it's monetary, sometimes it's a shared link, sometimes it's a kind word at school dropoff or pickup.
A quick midday reminder: We love donations, but we love shares too! #GivingTuesday helps us make significant progress towards our year-end goal. Every dollar & every share helps us get closer to helping 800+ kids get a better and more equitable education. https://t.co/3V7IsHiN7W
Remember that this year Facebook's #GivingTuesday match is up to $100 for new recurring donors who make 2 consecutive monthly payments of $5 or more, so if you can head to our Facebook page & make a recurring donation its impact will be that much greater. https://t.co/0KPPzRVvvL
It's officially official, friends: #GivingTuesday is here. And you know what that means, it's time to donate to the causes that you care about the most. Might we humbly suggest the PS9 PTO? https://t.co/3V7IsHAoww
@Winner_MLS @KPBrend@PS9BklynPTO Thank you for asking! Donations of winter clothes (kids + adults), formula, diapers, tampons & pads, kids toys, etc. would be greatly appreciated. You can drop off donations to our office at 55 Hanson Place, Suite 778 on Mon-Thu from 9-5.
This month, 25 new students started school at P.S. 9 in Prospect Heights. They’re living at a nearby emergency shelter with their families.
I spoke with @CMCrystalHudson and the good folks at @PS9BklynPTO, who have welcomed the families with open arms.

@KPBrend Absolutely! If you ever want to reach us, you can contact the current president (who this year is Leah Vickers) at [email protected] or our Comms team (who run this account) at [email protected].
@KPBrend Hi. Your article was wonderful, thanks for bringing attention. PS9 is a small part of a much larger issue. If there’s a way to make corrections, our org is a PTO not a PTA, & Jessica is actually our former pres (but very much the right person to have spoken to & quoted).
We're elated to welcome these families into our school & our community, though we deeply dislike the way in which the city acts towards them. Tremendous thanks to all of you who have helped so far! Thanks to @CMCrystalHudson & ex-PTO president @ophelia102009 for their leadership!
What's happening in our community, and across the city, is a travesty. As we've done before, the families of PS9 are once again stepping up where the city won't. Families who wish to help should look on Konstella for more info. https://t.co/laQBYKtGMu
