Over the past year, The Outlaw Ocean Project worked quietly with @NBCNews and a satellite firm called @GlobalFishWatch to conduct an investigation revealing the largest fleet of illegal fishing ships ever discovered.
@ian_urbina The world’s largest IUU fishing fleet hiding in plain sight, hundreds of Chinese ships in N. Korean waters, reveal a huge violation of U.N. sanctions & why dead bodies have been washing up. Proud to support @OutlawOcean

If this is accurate, it is rather disheartening and a stark example of illegal, unregulated and unreported (IUU) fishing even in places with, supposedly, some of the highest capacity for regulation and enforcement...what to do?https://t.co/j3Dxr8IyLm
@VictorrStarly I see, well, I was in the room and listened to her entire speech. I realize that is just a speech and politicians have to make tough decisions and balance things out as much as possible. I presume Chile has one of the largest ocean protected areas of all countries?
@VictorrStarly Of course, you are right that we have to do all of that. We start with the steps we can take. The way things are looking now, we are truly racing against time to save ourselves from ourselves. A very hard thing to achieve. But still not clear how is she lying?
