This work is the result of a great collaboration with @marcusvuk , Morteza Haghir Chehreghani, and @AntonioLonga94. We introduce RelSC — a graph regression benchmark derived from program graphs. The dataset is available in two variants: RelSC-H (homogeneous, flow-augmented ASTs with semantic node features) and RelSC-M (multi-relational, with up to 49 relation types).

A key finding of this work addresses an open problem in the Graph Learning literature: despite access to richer relational structure, heterogeneous GNN models consistently underperform their homogeneous counterparts — highlighting that effectively leveraging multi-relational data in graph regression remains an unsolved challenge.

RelSC is being integrated into PyTorch Geometric for seamless access and will be featured in a dedicated tutorial:
