Justice was served today with the sentencing of Aimee Bock for her role in the Feeding our Future fraud. Thank you to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for bringing accountability to Minnesota where Keith Ellison would not. But full accountability doesn’t end with Aimee Bock. According to a NY Post report this week, Aimee said she ‘struggled to believe’ that Ilhan Omar was not aware. Betty McCollum has referred to Ilhan as her ‘sister’—so what did Betty know about the ongoing fraud? We 'struggle to believe' that Betty wasn’t aware. One of the epicenters for fraud in Minnesota is the infamous Griggs-Midway Building which is in the heart of Betty's District and a short drive from her office. Former U.S. Attorney Joe Thompson described it as housing an ‘unusual concentration’ of fraudulent entities. Why would Betty have ignored the fraud? The U.S. Attorney’s office made it clear in its sentencing request for Aimee that in assessing motivation and responsibility for the fraud it’s not just financial profit that needs to be taken into account, but also the acclaim received from the East African community. Minnesotans deserve answers and full accountability and I will FIGHT for them as your CD4 U.S. Representative.
