🚨🇵🇰 Pakistan has SUSPENDED the elected government of jailed fmr PM Imran Khan's main political stronghold

Emergency rule has stripped Khan's party of control over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's government and budget, with a political opponent installed in its place.

Authorities cite rising militant violence, but Khan's party calls the move a political TAKEOVER aimed at stopping protests demanding his release.

Hundreds of supporters and party officials have also been detained.

Meanwhile, Khan's family says his health is deteriorating while in prison...

His party is now challenging the emergency measures in court as the crackdown on his supporters intensifies.

Pakistan is preparing to SHUT DOWN mobile and internet services in Rawalpindi, Islamabad's "twin city."

The Punjab Interior Department has requested the federal government to degrade phone and internet connectivity starting Sept. 27, including the jamming of 2G, 3G, and 4G networks in specific areas of the city.

The move comes amid rising tensions and massive planned protests linked to Imran Khan's imprisonment.

Restricting communications has become a recurring tool to limit mobilization, and a clear sign of how nervous the authorities have become...

سابق وزیراعظم عمران خان کی صحت کے حوالے سے حکومت اور متعلقہ حکام کا طرزِ عمل قابلِ افسوس اور کئی سنجیدہ سوالات کو جنم دیتا ہے۔
سپریم کورٹ نے عمران خان کے طبی معائنے اور علاج کے حوالے سے واضح احکامات جاری کیے تھے، جن میں ہسپتال منتقلی اور میڈیکل بورڈ کے ذریعے معائنے کی ہدایت شامل تھی۔ اس کے باوجود چند گھنٹوں کے طبی عمل کے بعد انہیں دوبارہ اڈیالہ جیل منتقل کیے جانے کی مکمل طبی اور قانونی بنیاد عوام کے سامنے آنی چاہیے۔
آخر ایسی کیا عجلت تھی کہ ایک ایسے مریض، جس کی صحت کا معاملہ سپریم کورٹ تک پہنچ چکا ہے، کو چند گھنٹوں میں طبی طور پر مطمئن قرار دے کر دوبارہ اڈیالہ جیل منتقل کردیا گیا؟
اگر ان کی طبی حالت مکمل طور پر تسلی بخش تھی تو تفصیلی اور مستند میڈیکل رپورٹ سامنے لائی جائے۔ اور اگر مزید نگرانی یا علاج درکار ہے تو اسے عدالتی احکامات کے مطابق بلا رکاوٹ فراہم کیا جائے۔
ہیومن رائٹس کونسل آف پاکستان مطالبہ کرتی ہے کہ عمران خان کی صحت، طبی معائنے، ہسپتال کی منتقلی اور دوبارہ اڈیالہ جیل بھیجنے کے پورے عمل میں مکمل شفافیت اختیار کی جائے اور سپریم کورٹ کے احکامات پر ان کی روح کے مطابق عمل درآمد یقینی بنایا جائے۔
صحت سیاسی معاملہ نہیں، بنیادی انسانی حق ہے۔

We have received reports that Imran Khan was again taken to PIMS in the early hours of 15 June. We found out through a tweet by Barrister Gohar on the morning of 15 June.

We reject any medical report generated by PIMS regarding Imran Khan’s condition. The same institution has previously made questionable claims, including the assertion that Imran Khan had recovered 90% of his eyesight. Imran Khan himself rejected these claims when his lawyer later met him at Adiala Jail.

A fundamental question remains unanswered: Why does Imran Khan require a fifth injection?

We do not accept the government’s version of events. We demand that Imran Khan be examined and treated by independent, qualified specialists at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad. This is an urgent and immediate priority.

A full bench court order permits six family members to meet Imran Khan every Tuesday. Yet over the past eight months, the authorities have largely violated this order. My sister, Dr. Uzma Khan, has only been allowed to meet him a few times, and her last meeting took place on 2 December, 2025.

We reject the government’s continued use of isolation and deprivation as tools of pressure against Imran Khan. Today, we expect all six family members to be allowed to meet him in accordance with the court’s order.

The denial of Imran Khan’s rights is not merely a political issue; it is a clear violation of both the jail manual and High Court orders.

According to the jail manual, Imran Khan is entitled to:

1. A weekly telephone call with his sons.
2. A weekly meeting with family members.
3. A weekly meeting with his legal counsel.
4. Access to books and reading material.
5. Access to television and newspapers.
6. Access to proper medical treatment and regular medical check-ups.
7. Notification to immediate family members before any medical procedure is carried out.

In addition, High Court full bench orders provide that:

1. Imran Khan must be allowed to speak with his sons by telephone.
2. Six family members and six lawyers may meet him every Tuesday.
3. Six friends, including party representatives, may meet him every Thursday.

We demand the immediate restoration of all of Imran Khan’s lawful rights as a prisoner, with access to independent and professional medical treatment in presence of family as the highest and most urgent priority.
