@JMarcusDPT That really was a great article ~ i think if more of us knew that we all had these feelings about negotiating then we would be more likely to ask anyway😊 thank you Dr. Jasmine!

@ShreyaTrivediMD In my small sample here, 37% if women didn’t ask. It starts with asking. And before asking employer, it starts with asking peers & asking the what the salary data is. #medpaygap#womeninmedicine#GirlMedTwitter https://t.co/YrRjupKty1
@ShreyaTrivediMD@petradMD as a pre-physical therapy student I learned a lot tonight ~ thank you to all who discussed tonight's #womeninmedicine chat 💙 amazing questions too!
Love all the support in this community! Lets all leave with tangible techniques or resources for improving our negotiation skills. Hopefully, we can use this as a source to point another woman to when/if she is in similar situations #womeninmedicine#sheforshe#heforeshe
Thank you for the authenticity #womeninmedicine community! Let's continue with Q3 on example(s) of a positive experience or successful negotiating and why? @womeninmedchat
Love the themes coming out of Q1. Lets continue to learn from each other with Q2 on example(s) of a negotiation that didn't go as planned or a negative experience & more importantly, what you #learned from it? #womeninmedicine
Alright feel free to keep those introductions coming as we're going to get started here with Q1. How do you think women do when it comes to negotiations? #womeninmedicine

@ShreyaTrivediMD Pretty heavily impacted by the book #womendontask but poor. This is part of why we make less $$. We wait for things to be offered (ie raises). We worry about not being liked if we insist on more.
@lauren_kuwik @ShreyaTrivediMD I remember reading part of that! They mentioned a study which compared the college women & men from the same class, and most of the men negotiated for a higher first salary then the women. Some women did not ask for more. It impacted me too. #WomenInMedicine#prePT
