this isn't really what twitter is for, but ten years ago today my son died and I basically never talk about it with anyone other than my wife. it's taken me ten years to realize that I want to talk about it all the time.
this is about grief
After I got accepted to medical school, had a man I was dating tell me “I’m not comfortable with you making more $$ than me.”
My response? “Then work harder. And get out.”
Calling all #medtwitter! We need your help.
Do you know any home health aides who might be willing to speak to @gabmayer or @ShreyaTrivediMD for an upcoming podcast? We're working on an episode for our soon-to-launch #interprofessional education series.
I've been thinking a lot about burnout in healthcare lately- I find myself furious at all the "practice self care" advice as it doesn't fix the broken system. What strategies have you developed? #medtwitter#womeninmedicine@ORourkeJr@Docbasia @ccardyDNP @InduPartha
Interesting @UCSF study in @nejmcatalyst showing that women are spending more time interacting with EHRs (ie. longer notes, >after-hours, weekend time) than men...
How does this affect burnout, provider QOL, quality of care, and patient safety? https://t.co/zkATHz0X8y
#WomenInMedicine, do you find it easier to negotiate for others than for yourselves?
Are you more likely to “ask for it” when it doesn’t involve 💰 💴?

@mike_natter The definition of compassion, literally at its roots, is cum + pati = to suffer with. As such we become wounded healers, and just as we recognize each patient grieves differently, so we must learn how we ourselves heal (others and thyself).
What I love about Twitter is the intergenerational connections. I've been following @ReadMoreScience for her thoughtful science-related posts. She's been patching together financial aid & work study & it's failing her. Please pitch in & keep her enrolled! https://t.co/mgrgw58kpY
